In order to get fantastic sunbursts with pronounced rays there are several factors to consider...

• Ideally, the surface must be flat calm
• the sky must be cloudless and the sun overhead
• Your depth should be kept to a minimum as the deeper you go the less 'form' a sunburst takes
• It is also critical to freeze the motion of such rays to give them definition and so a fast shutterThe shutter is an integral part of all cameras. It opens to allow light through. The greater the range of shutter speeds a camera has the better. speed should therefore be chosen.
