Bracketing is a photographic technique that has been around as long as photography.

Bracketing involves making safety exposures either side of what your light meter tells you. You use your metered reading as a starting point only, assume an error, and making safety exposures either side. Normally you make exposures in one f-stopStandard unit of exposure.
