Underwater-Photoshop :: Non-destructive editing
Non-destructive Editing

|
The latest buzzword is ‘non-destructive editing’.
As we edit our images we make mistakes! How do we backtrack to a point before the
error occurred?
The traditional way of preserving your original file is to save it at regular intervals. Effective, but inefficient!
Non-destructive editing simply means preserving
our original pixels. This allows us to backtrack to our original image regardless
of how many editing steps we apply to it.
The modern and smarter way to ensure you can go back over mistakes is to harness the power of new Photoshop features. For
instance by using an adjustment layeran adjustment to the image saved as a special type of layer, which only impose their adjustments to layers
beneath them without actually altering the pixels on those lower layers.
