"Puffer Face"
A Sharpnose Puffer with a Red Rope Sponge in the background.
Close up shot - centre portion of a Ralpharia Gorgoniae, top lighting.
Using a home-made snoot to highlight the eyes of the arrowhead crab.
'Fireworm Sunball'
This banded coral shrimp was buried in the lilac vase sponge and I had to contort myself to capture the image. I love the way the sponge looks like soft fabric.
'Guardian of the Reeeeeeeef' - unable to control his buoyancy a diver plummets towards the Guardian. Shot taken for the article 'How Not to Rock the Boat' by Drew Mcarthur, published DIVER magazine, August 2015.
The North Wall of Grand Cayman is spectacular! At depth, everything loses color and these sponges appeared a muted greyish-pink. I knew they had to be more colorful. A burst from my strobes revealed the stunning, bright purple.

Backlinghting the filefish illuminating the skeletal bones and using just enough front lighting to light up the eye.
A pelican is oblivious to what's happening in the background.
Corkscrew anemone providing home and shelter to different species, and many times they co-exsist in harmony.
The USS-Kittiwake is one of my favorite dives. Every time I descend on it, the variety of light, sealife, conditions... inspire a photo!
3rd place Monthly HotShots shortlistedShortlisted!
'Mouthful'...A blenny hunting bloodworms by night. This was a special capture as the blenny was lightning fast, in order to get the bloodworm in its mouth required preemptive firing at just the right moment! Luckily one came out just right smile
A mantis shrimp peeping out of its hiding place before making a dash for the nearby rocks.
A pregnant spotted cleaner shrimp
'Holding On' - image of an urchin bumblebee shrimp in b/w
Adorable roughhead blenny!
I used f/2.8 to focus on just the blenny's eyes and cirri (horns), making them pop against the background.
Cruising the reef
Subal underwater housing, Canon 5D m2, Canon EF8-15mm@ 15mm, f16, 1/160s, ISO200, available light

Rippled sunlight shimmers on a stingray. Photographed on a wavy day at Stingray Sandbar.

A large Hawksbill catching a breather at the surface.
