Smaller subjects typically 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5cm) shot on macro settings or with macro equipment that are NOT MOVING usually on the bottom (i.e. between 1:1 and 1:3)

Blue Ribbon Eel, a very difficult shot for me using Nikonos V 1:2 extension tube. After the digital divers scared it back into its hole, I laid with the framer ready to take the shot for 7 minutes before he poked his head back up.

Riding a snail isn’t probably the fastest way to get anywhere; on the other hand it probably gives you plenty of time to look around… Lymnaea and Asellus aquaticus
I didn't have the clearest water conditions, lots of backscatter on any images taken from more than a few feet, so I concentrated on macro. I used a Canon G10 with Ikelite housing and Sea & Sea strobe. This was my third dive with this setup.

Electric Scallop, what an amazing creature the electric lightning flashed across its width over and over. Unfortunately using film this was my last fram and I missed it arching, but still a neat photo. Nikonos 5 28mm lense.
