Cenote light. A great add on to an Isle Mujeres Whaleshark trip are the Cenotes. Since no strobes are allowed with the Whalesharks I left them home and shot natural light in the Cenotes with a high ISO (1600) and a fast wide lens.

Turtle shooting up
Whaleshark eye contact. No strobes allowed so close focus with a wide lens and the sun at your back helps.
Snooting was a two man job for this, my buddy followed the shrimp with the light while I shot through the tentacles.

Girls just wanna have fun., clowning around with crinoids
Are you finished yet? My buddy seemed to think it took me too long to light this anemone properly.

Scorpionfish let you get very close to focus- here about two inches from the dome. Red always surprises me when I see the preview- this fish was about 10 inches long.

my favorite in this magical photo shoot, thanks for uploading Steven.
Surface chop made over-unders difficult here, so this is a composite of two images shot for this purpose, then layered in Perfect Photo Suite, then painted out the top half to let the other image show through.

This very large turtle sees his reflection in the big dome.

A different look at the Oarsman under a Lilly Pad, I like the bubbles :-)

Not photographed very much, this is called an Oarsman or a Boatman, they look like a rowboat when they move. Around a half inch long, this one is upside down on a lilly leaf, (notice the bubbles) 60mm macro lens
