Different color sea fans. Taken at a depth of about 40ft on a recent trip to Raja Ampat during Xmas 2024. Taken by a friend using an Olympus OM-D with 2 strobes.

Adult escorts are usually but not always related to the calf. An Aunt, sister, cousin, grandmother, or even its mother. They all look after the new one. (taken under permit)

Smaller subjects typically 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5cm) shot on macro settings or with macro equipment that are in MID WATER not touching anything (i.e. between 1:1 and 1:3)

Anemone fish in its anemone.
With a f/11 aperture, capturing this quick hovering shrimp was a hell of a job. With a bit of patience, I got him in focus and with the perfect composition that I wanted.

My first Sepiola Atlantica. And it was trying to hide for me.
Dancing with this little creature was another challenging action underwater. She was so shy. After several minutes of waiting and almost 20 frames later, none were in focus or had a composition that I don't like.... finally I got her.
