Dental hygiene. A demonstration of symbiosis on Anacapa Island's reefs in the Channel Islands National Park. This is a California moray and its attendant red-rock shrimp.
Color. A Spanish Shawl nudibranch brightens the reefs at Anacapa Island. Shot with a Canon t4i and 100mm f/2.8 lens in Ike housing with dual DS51 strobes.
Crowned. Black dorid nudibranch's like this have been a rare find in years past at Anacapa Island. This year there are literally dozens of them. Shot with a Canon t4i and 100mm f/2.8 in Ikelite housing with dual DS51 strobes.
Golden Spots. This California blue doris nudibranch is a signature species for southern California's Channel Islands. Shot with a canon t4i in Ike housing with a snooted DS 51 strobe and 100mm f/2.8 macro lens.
Sunburst Over A California Reef. The clear winter water and bright sun at Anacapa Island in the Channel Islands National Park. Shot with a Canon T4i and 10-22mm in an Ikelite housing with dual DS51 strobes.
Gliding Over The Reef. I caught this California Bat Ray as it soared just over the reef by lying quietly in its path until it came to me. Shot with a Canon T4i and 10-22mm in Ikelite Housing with dual DS51 strobes.
California Kelp Forest Color. This Spanish Shawl nudibranch glows out of the darkness. The nudibranch is lit with a snoot using a Canon T4i with 100mm macro and a snooted DS51 strobe.
Safety in the Spines. This tiny juvenile garibaldi is a colorful, cold-water damselfish that will someday grow into one of the largest damselfish species found anywhere.
