Sharpnosed puffer
This honeycomb cowfish posed for me for quite a while...and followed me around, even when I wasn't shooting him. I was set up for macro, so I did the best I could with getting a portrait.
White christmas Tree worm from Bonaire taken in October. No diopter was used - this is with the Olympus m.zuiko 60mm macro lens only.
This very young (and small) goldentail eel was kind enough to pose for me in Bonaire on my last trip
I spent a lot of time the water this last trip, and this is a shot that I have had on my mind for about 2 years. I am proud to say I got it.No diopter, this is with the 60mm macro lens that Olympus makes.
I saw this shrimp and decided to try and shoot it, even though I had a gorgonian blowing in my face between my eyes and the LCD screen. It was fun working slowly and through the surge t get this image.
I saw this Christmas Tree Worm hanging down in front of a opening in the coral and thought, this will make an interesting shot/perspective. It worked and I really like it
Love the bouquet of social feather duster worms...the colour is so delicate
The statue is Amphritite - Siren of Sunset Reef I shot this fairly close up in order to show the beautiful growth in her hair.
On my last day of diving, I was set up for macro. 100+ feet away I saw a turtle who looked right at me and began swimming toward me. I waited and hoped I could at least manage a shot of his head. I was lucky, the only shot I got was this one.
Greysby can be skittish creatures at best. But this one held still for me to take a shot of him rather close up (I had a macro lens on, so close was my only option.)
Lovely little sharpnose pufferfish decided to swim towards me, so I had to take a photo of it.
Sharpnosed Pufferfish - these are everywhere in Roatan in the month of May. I love their colors, but it is hard to shoot them, since they flit from place to place so quickly.
on my way back from Neman's Wall to the Prince Albert where our boat was tied up, I noticed this scorpionfish. Since I had the FE lens on, I decided to try and do a close focus/wide angle shot with him as the subject.
Brain coral - I love the canyons and movement in this coral. While I was focusing this little goby jumped into the picture.
When I saw this mantis shrimp I decided to try and entice him out of his hole and take a shot...in heavy surge. I stayed with him for about 5 minutes and finally got this. I never could get him to come all the way out.
I was swimming along the wall, in the surge when I stopped to look at a seahorse. As I began to take a picture of the seahorse, this little guy swam up and posed for two shots. This was the one I liked best. Very inquisitive little guy.
"SHHHH - let him sleep, please"
One of the few shots I got of manatees at Three Sisters Springs (Crystal River, Florida). The two French ladies immediately behind the manatee were always in my shots...and I have no idea how they managed that.
Spirobranchus giganteus
This was one of the most delicately coloured ones I have ever seen. Just a hint of peachy-apricot to it.
This is uncropped.
this was taken in November in Bonaire...I thought the pattern on this Cyphoma gibbosum was quite unusual...and the contrast to the lavender rope sponge it was on was t me, the best.
This is uncropped.
Olympus EPL-5, Nauticam housing, 60mm macro lens (no diopter), 2 Sea & Sea YS-D1 strobes,
F/18, s 1/160 and ISO 200
Peppermint Goby (Coryphopterus lipernes) size for this guy was about 1 inch.
Beautiful Anchor on the top of Rock Pile Reef.
Playful
This manatee rolled over just as I approached her(?)- I could not resist smiling and capturing the moment.
Calm Waters
On Tuesday we went out in the afternoon hoping to find the manatees - we did not. However, while in Three Sisters Springs I spotted this root system and some fain sunbeams, It was so beautiful.
"Serenity"
Yesterday I got this shot of a manatee - little did I know that this would be the only day that we would find any in the springs. Today we found one outside the springs, but in very murky water
I waited and waited and then this little gem almost swam into my port. There is a small amount of cropping on this photo. I particularly like her fin on the left side of the photo - what beauty!!
Maybe I should call this "There is always one..."
See the fish in the upper right? Only one not going the same way as the school...now why do I identify with that fish?
