Smaller subjects typically 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5cm) shot on macro settings or with macro equipment that are in MID WATER not touching anything (i.e. between 1:1 and 1:3)

Clione limacina, a pteropod or sea butterfly, photographed in Hornsund, Spitsbergen. There was a bizzard of zooplankton in the water that day - you can just make out some calanoid copepods in the water around the pteropod.

Cowfish eye. Nikonos V, 35 mm, 1:2 extension tube, SB 105 on Kodachrome 64. No cropping and no photoshop work, that's actually the color of the fish's eye, or the reflection of the strobe off the retina. Red eye with humans, is it blue eye with fish?
It was the start of our Aggressor live-a-board in Palau,Micronesia. Our first dive was at Lions fish rock and we saw this beautifull anemone and anemone fish. little did we know that this was the start of a surreal week of diving.
