Tunc Yavuzdogan | Tunc Yavuzdogan started his underwater photography journey in the
turqoise waters of the North Eagean coast of Turkey. His first cameras
were the legendary Nikonos V and Sony Hi8 in an Ocean Images housing. He's spent a remarkable amount of time in South East Asia diving in Malaysia, Indonesia and Philipines. He fell in love with these surprisingly rich tropical waters so much that, he decided to move himself and his family to Indonesia three years ago. He currently resides in Jakarta, spending most of his time travelling and diving.
Tunc has been a pioneer in both diving industry and underwater
photography in Turkey. His dive center has been one of the first tour operators to take big groups of Turkish divers to the Red Sea, South East Asia and South Africa. He has worked as a lecturer of Underwater Imaging in universities and written a book on underwater Photography.
He has produced a number of documentaries, opened up exhibitions and has several international achievements. | My Website

Alan G. Miller | I started with a camera in the late 60s as my grandfather was a photographer and worked for Zeiss and then Kodak. In the 70s I moved to my first 35 SLR. Architecture school turned into a BFA in photography by the mid 80s and in 1989 I finally bought myself a Nikonos V. I have been doing almost 2 liveaboard dive trips a year with 7-10 days of nothing but diving (maybe eating and sleeping too). I have and still only shoot Kodachrome 64 underwater and hand print my own Cibachromes, now known as Ilfochromes. Only large prints will do for me as I want the viewer to want to swim in, most are either 10x14 or 14x20s. I have since moved to a Nikonos RS (2003) and really have enjoyed the TTL experience. No more aim and hope the parallax does not kill you. I have always enjoyed diving in the Coral Sea, which is a few hundred miles outside the Great Barrier Reef. I will never forget the 150 m vis for our first dive in Oct 1993, and have been back 5 more times never to find it quite like that. | My Website

Juan Grau | I started underwater photography in 1994 in The Caribbean Sea with my first camera made by Motormarine II.
The pictures weren’t as good as I want and for this reason I decide to work with a reflex camera and the Nikon F90 X was a very good choice with underwater case Arius made by Hughyphot.
Today the technologies permit us to take pictures more easily with the Digital Camera System but I’m continuing to use my reflex equipment and sometimes I go diving with twice.
In fact the price for the Arius underwater case for the Nikon F90X was 1000.- Euros. The price for the D80 approach 2000.- Euros. Is very strange!! Have you ever saw your purchasing power doubling in 10 years?
Equipment
• Hugyphot Housing for NIKON F90 X
• Wide angle : Micro Nikkor 20-35 mm 2.8D
• Macro : Micro Nikkor 105 mm 2.8D
• Strobe Sea & Sea Yellow sub 300
• Kodackcrome 64 ASA & Fujifilm 100 ASA
• 10 BAR Housing for Canon G11 & G 12

Charlie Foreman | I have been diving since the late 70s and and began teaching SSI in the early 80s. I have made in excess of 7000 dives, taught over 2500 students and am an SSI Platinum Pro Instructor. I first started underwater photography in 1982 with a Nikonos III and later bought a IV. I then graduated to 2 Nikonos Vs. I shot film until I converted to digital in 2002.I am still learning digital but I like the ability to see your photos underwater as you take them. I am shooting an Olympus 5050 housed in a Lights and Motion Tetra housing with 2 Sea&Sea YS-90DX strobes. I finally got to take the trip of all trips to the Galapagos Islands and liked it so much that I have another planned for August 2009. We went in August 2007 when it was the best time for the whalesharks although a bit cool and dove with 22 in 3 days...WHAT A RUSH!!!!!! I am going to try and go back to the Galapagos again in 2012. I just can't get enough!! | | United States | |
