Larissa Roorda | I have enjoyed this hobby since 2005, starting out with a Sony point and shoot. My first DSLR was a used Nikon D70. Currently, I shoot with: Nikon D300, Sea&Sea housing, Inon Z240 strobes. Lenses: 10-17; 12-24; 105mm; 18-70.
My favorite place, so far, is Papua New Guinea.

Ray Eccleston | I began scuba diving in 1976 and have been taking underwater photos since 1996. Two of my recent photos have been on the cover of Underwater Speleology. I use a Nikon D-200 camera, a Ikelite housing, 8" dome port, and DS-125 strobe. | | United States

Morgan Ashton | I was certifed in 1985 after getting some money from my mom for college clothing. I spent it on diving lessons. It*s only in the last few years, that I*ve had enough money (or lack of financial sense) to go on the trips I always wanted to. I'm currently taking pictures with a Sony RX 100 in a Nauticam housing. | | United States

First digital camera, Nikon Coolpix 990, Ikelite housing and Video Lite.
My favourite dive destinations are Brunei and Nelson Bay, Australia.
My favourite dive site, is Lucky Bay in Western Australia, a fantastic shore dive, with Kangaroos on the beach and Sea Dragons underwater.
I'm currently using a compact Canon G12 with Nauticam housing and only the internal flash.

Leigh Chapman | Time to update. Thumbnail shot remains first even taken in Indonesia 2004 with Canon A-95. I currently have a Nikon D200, Sea & Sea housing and strobes. My fairly recent trip back to Indonesia is the second time I've used it and the first time I've shot total manual and using only one of two strobes. Had to. iTTl flooded first day; (unseen) screw was loose and caused a strobe to fall off on second day in a muck dive. (If someone finds a screw somewhere in Lembeh...) I won't bore you with all the other malfunctions -this time, it wasn't my fault, I swear - but am writing this to say that I was petrified to attempt manual shooting but now consider it a blessing in disguise that the iTTL went bye-bye...and to encourage other "newbies" to continue shooting as long as the shutter works. | | United States

Allan Vandeford | My wife and I live in Avon, Colorado - just seven miles from Vail. We began diving in 2001 when faced with a trip to Tahiti and just couldn't imagine going there without experiencing the underwater scene. Our first open water dive at Tapu presented us with three Lemon Sharks and numerous Black Tipped Reefs. On our second dive we met our first sea turtle and three Manta Rays. Needless to say we were hooked.
Now as we edge close on 1,000 dives each we are being drawn ever farther from home. After many trips to the Caribbean, Hawaii, Fiji, the Solomon Islands and most recently to Indonesia we are now being drawn toward less frequently visited areas. Our next trip is planned to Raja Ampat later this year.
Today Mary films using a Sony HC7 in a Light & Motion housing while I shoot stills with a Canon 5D in an Aquarice housing with Inon strobes. | | United States
