Wreck of a WWII Bristol Beaufighter at 40 metres off the coast of Malta. It crashed on an operational mission in 1941 and is remarkably well preserved, with wings, fuselage, engines, propellors, nose cannon and undercarriage all intact.
A Blue Spotted Ribbontail Ray at night inside a cargo hold on the wreck of the Thistlegorm; an unexpected find.
A captured 450kg Bluefin. Although very saddened by the plight of these gentle giants, profits from diving with them allows some to be released back to the wild. I had mixed emotions about this rare chance to dive with such magnificent fish.
Close up of a Picasso Trigger fish; one of the most colourful and apty-named reef fish in the Red Sea.
Fried Egg Jellyfish framed against the Azure Window off the island of Gozo, near Malta. Natural light shot with red magic filter.
Flamingo Tounge Cowrie on Sea Fan. A static subject, but in reality not as easy at it looks. There was significant surge, but this image provided a strong natural diagonal and great colours for a pleasing overall composition.
Squid attacking Rabbitfish taken on a night dive. An opportunity shot; first saw the action in a torch light within peripheral vision, but had only a few attempts for the image before the squid disappeared into the dark.
A shot of a Conch's eye taken close in and from sea bed level. It has an almost alien feel.

This was taken on a photo workshop with Dr Alex Mustard, using an off-camera strobe technique to light the diver and inside of the cavern, using only a hint of foreground flash, sufficient to trigger the main lighting.

Barrel Sponge and Diver taken off the East end of Grand Cayman. The sponge was almost directly under the dive boat, so it was simply a matter of camping out with the camera set up until a diver dropped into frame; which one duly did.
Damselfish taken with a compact and single strobe during a night dive on the WWII wreck of the Thistlegorm. This common and often overlooked fish is made more interesting by the simple black backdrop, which was more by accident than design.
