Isopods are not insects but crustaceans. They are relatives of insects however, with their jointed legs and exoskeleton. Actually they are more closely related to shrimp, crayfish and crabs.

Tiny little devil (Skeleton Shrimp)
Pipehorse Portrait - My first pipehorse! This little guy is less than an inch long, and is very hard to spot with an untrained eye. The background is white from my strobes reflecting off the sand.

I found this little Xeno Crab sitting on a whip coral in about 25 meters depth. The crab tried to hide, but I managed to get the shot eventually. I placed my strobes left and right of the crab to get a nice black background.
