A bright spot in the June gloom/Canon 5D/Canon 15 mm fish-eye lens/SPL waterhousing/This is the same guy that ran me over in April...I still have the scar on my kneecap -- his fin sliced right through my wetsuit...ouch!
This lizard fish allowed a very close approach during a night dive. I never realized how spectacular some of their features were until this shot.

Off the coast of Hawaii we jumped in the water with a pod of Pilot Whales. Once they exited our field of view, this guy, a huge, very curious oceaninc whitetip shark approached us rather closely, an incredibly rare experience!
