Lionfish Invasion Update. Lionfish have invaded Blue Heron Bridge dive site in Riviera Beach Florida. Taken under the docks on the east side of the dive site.

Note: the diver next to me was wearing all yellow skin. We call this one a mimic octopus- perhaps not a true mimic scientifially, but certainly likes to mimic.

This octopus actually came out of hiding on the reef and began to put on a fantastic color display that the camera couldn't capture, then retreated. I suppose I was too near its abode.
