Once in a lifetime chance! A mother Humpback Whale stops by for a visit while diving off Molokai off the coast of Maui. This was more stunning than the Hammerheads we saw. These beautiful mammals make a long journey to Hawaii to raise their calves.

We discovered a rare blanket octopus on Molasses Reef in Key Largo. This is one of about a dozen photos I took of this rare creature. This is the blanket octopus in it's closed position.

Profile shot of a very friendly trunk fish nibbling on the coral. By the way, this photo is supposed to be displayed in the vertical position, but for some reason would only upload in the horizontal setting. Hmmm...
I took a very rare photo of a blanket octopus. These are nearly impossible to find as they mainly stay in the gulfstream. This was in about 30 feet of water off Key Largo.

Sponges- Wall Dive, Mary's Place, Roatan-Was surprised by the orientation of these sponges. Almost tempted to rotate the image, but the exhaust bubbles in the background reach for the surface. SeaLife DC1000 with Wide Angle lens, single strobe.
