Smaller subjects typically 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5cm) shot on macro settings or with macro equipment that are in MID WATER not touching anything (i.e. between 1:1 and 1:3)
This small blenny (about 4cm) sat very patiently as the camera moved in... either that or it was too scared to move... Taiwan again, IXUS again
Reef Ghost, Was in a swift changing current at Barracuda Point Sipadan Island, guided myself in behind a bombie for some reprieve. I noticed some fire weed that was moving in a strange direction. Spotted these two Harlequin Ghost Pipe Fish.
Banded pipefish on a night dive in Mabul
Look into my eyes... hypnotic acid fish in Taiwan. Enhanced by friends at digitaldiver... IXUS 750
A pair of BOXER CRAB. D70,105mm.
Kapalai,Sabah
Clown Fish/Anemone....Soma Soma Straits, Fiji...Reefmaster 3.2 megapixels...internal flash
clown fish,f100 and single strobe
These spine cheek anemone fish never want to sit still for the picture, they just move and move and my camera wouldn't focus on them. So I just focused on the anemone instead and waited for the fish to swim in front of my camera.
Hawaiian Bigeye shot with 300D, 55mm. A shot in the dark.
Its the first time that i come together with this kind of fish, and as they tell me other divers its very rare. i am not complaining, it was patient and give me a nice pose.
Pink Anemonefish, Taken with a canon powershot SD550 and a lot of luck.
The other variety of Sea-Dragon, the Weedy Sea-Dragon. Not as attractive as the Leafy, but equally mesmerising to my wife Jill and special dive buddy. Taken shore diving at Lucky Bay, Australia with Nikon Coolpix 990 & Video Lite
freswhwater ,tadpoles,f100 , 105 and 2x.
Another curious little hermit crab found in Taiwan...
Old blue eyes! Tiny hermit crab in Taiwan. These guys often get scooped up, ending up in nightmarkets with a paperclip glued to their backs while small children try to hook them out with a magnet on a rope for fun. Still, who am I to judge, right ??
"Johnny" John Dory taken at Goat Island Marine Reserve.

Nice portrait Alexander
Leafy Sea-Dragon found while shore diving at Lucky Bay, Western Australia. Taken with Nikon Coolpix 990 and Video Lite. Without the lights, the Leafy Sea-Dragon is almost indistinguishable from the weeds. I'd watch these until the air ran out!
Runner Up - worthy of note but not a medal winner - an equal 4th place if you like! Runner Up 2006

Kiss Me Angel was taken at Isla Mujeres on April 2006 using a Canon PowerShot SD 550.
"Glowing clown". I tried to resist posting another clown, but this seems to be the most popular of my PNG pics. NikonD70, 105mm
Grouper taken at the MFO Pipeline site in Nuweiba with an Olympus E-300
As I got closer and closer to this cute little pufferfish I was amazed how tame it was. I'm used to fish swimming away as soon as I get close, but not this one. He really liked his picture being taken with my Olympus C-5050 camera and Inon strobe.
