2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire. This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away. Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

The statue is Amphritite - Siren of Sunset Reef I shot this fairly close up in order to show the beautiful growth in her hair.

On my last day of diving, I was set up for macro. 100+ feet away I saw a turtle who looked right at me and began swimming toward me. I waited and hoped I could at least manage a shot of his head. I was lucky, the only shot I got was this one.

Three manta rays swim in a line near Isla Mujeres, Mexico.
Manta Train / Mantas are plentiful and perform a magic dance in the waters off the coast Isla Mujeres.
Greysby can be skittish creatures at best. But this one held still for me to take a shot of him rather close up (I had a macro lens on, so close was my only option.)

Lovely little sharpnose pufferfish decided to swim towards me, so I had to take a photo of it.
Sharpnosed Pufferfish - these are everywhere in Roatan in the month of May. I love their colors, but it is hard to shoot them, since they flit from place to place so quickly.
Flamingo toungue
on my way back from Neman's Wall to the Prince Albert where our boat was tied up, I noticed this scorpionfish. Since I had the FE lens on, I decided to try and do a close focus/wide angle shot with him as the subject.
Brain coral - I love the canyons and movement in this coral. While I was focusing this little goby jumped into the picture.

When I saw this mantis shrimp I decided to try and entice him out of his hole and take a shot...in heavy surge. I stayed with him for about 5 minutes and finally got this. I never could get him to come all the way out.
I was swimming along the wall, in the surge when I stopped to look at a seahorse. As I began to take a picture of the seahorse, this little guy swam up and posed for two shots. This was the one I liked best. Very inquisitive little guy.
Lookdown at the Jetties
My favorite winter time dive at Crystal River always is a happy dive with the smiles of the manatees.
