Surprise!! While sitting patiently watching a big Great White playing with some sea weed, this 4+m male GW scared the hell out of me as he snuck by for an ultra close pass. Evidently I don't taste good.

Legend of Beqa. This massive 3.5m pregnant female Bull shark is being hand fed by a native of Beqa island, Fiji. The gods are said to protect the islanders from being harmed by the sharks who they inturn protect. This is a truely amazing experience

Meet Bruce, the smiling 5m male great white. Bruce was one of 5 whites that circled us during the dive, making for a nerve racking ascent. Taken at 24m at the Neptune Islands, South Australia using a Nikon D700 16mm & 1.4x converter.

Watching Great Whites in their natural environment (in this case down at 26 metres) is an incredible site. On this dive we had 5 GW's encircle us including this 4.5m male. Certainly made getting back to the surface interesting.

Smile!! - This cute sub 5m female Great White has the perfect smile. This photo I particularly like as it gives her some character and goes a long way to dispelling the myth caused by all the open mouth aggressive GWS shots.

Scream - Paris the Short Fin Mako taken at North Neptune Island, South Australia. This feisty sub 3m female mako shark turned up during a Great White Shark tagging trip chasing away a 5m Great White. She loved the camera just like Paris Hilton

Majesty - This shot shows a female white shark showing dominance towards another white shark (if you look hard you can see the other one in front of her nose). The lowered pecs is not an aggressive sign but does show she is the more dominent

Meet Moo!!!, This 4+ Metre male Great White shark has returned 12 years in a row to the Neptune Islands in South Australia. This shot was taken by laying on the marlin board of the boat and leaning the camera into the water.

Playing around on the back of the boat with over/under shots and a playful teenage white shark. Pole Cams are for pussies, real men lay on the back of the marlin board and hold the camera underwater, definitely gets the heart racing.
shortlistedShortlisted!
It is a widely held misconception that Great White sharks only breach in South Africa. Freckles is a 4m male who is an aerial specialist attacking baits at up to 56 K's an hour to enable him to launch his entire body out of the water.
Joker. A frequent visitor to the reefs of the Beqa Channel, joker the male silvertip cruises by and surveys the area.
shortlistedShortlisted!
Rising Bull. Simplistic in form, the Bull whaler is accompanied by a lone remora.
'Shaggy'. This 4m Great White cruised in while we were deploying acoustic listening stations to track GWS movements in the Neptune Islands, South Australia.

'White Tip' the 4.5m male Great White. Taken during a scientific expedition to deploy acoustic listening stations (to track tagged GWS) in the North Neptune Islands, South Australia. 3 December 2011.

Meet Chainsaw the little 3.5m Great White. The lens make him look small but he's a feisty little bugger. Chainsaw has a huge chunk out of his head (unfortunately the other side from this pic) and really does look he's been in the wars.

Sam specializes in sharks - now in damsels too! wierd behavior!
This is Tuks aka Superman. He's my guard when shooting sharks and this picture shows why he is the best. The silvertip was coming in too close for comfort and in theatrical style Tuks gives her a right hook (notice the nictating eyelids half closed
