Gentle Giant! They hadn't had a Manta Ray in the double lagoon for 15years and we had the privledge to swim with this one (our first on ever) for 5 minutes before it flew off into the blue. Canon T2I in Aquatica with Tokina 10-17mm and twin strobes.

On a recent dive just off Vancouver Island we ran into a school of 12-15 Spiny Dogfish Sharks. They were standoffish at first then this 5-6 footer swam up for a closer look and I managed to get this close up from only a couple 4-5ft away! Enjoy!

Pygmy Seahorse! These amazing creatures are one of natures most amazing species. We saw three variations but this ones face was priceless!

Twin Rocks is famous for its jacks but these smaller fish schooled together to look like a huge fish I had to take the picture. The pinnacle, fish and sun made for a great photo.

This 3 cm baby flying fish was caught just away from a small raft of sea weed and the riot of colors shape was to much to let pass by. Enjoy!

" A Bad Hair Day " we found this Hairy Frogfish at about 40 ft and it allowed me to set up four strobes 2 behind it to give length and detail to all it projections and two in front to let us see its tiger stripes and face!
Sometimes something to distract the sea lions was enough to get a picture. My wife was just rattling her muck stick along the rock wall and made me think of a conductor with her choir!
I have been trying hard to get a good photo of a Banded Pipefish but when the guide pointed out this little 4cm baby it needed my 100mm macro lens plus my plus 5 diopter to bring out its true beauty.

The clear cold waters just off Vancouver Island hold many a wonder and playground for all divers. This dive the Sun shone above while the Sea Lions frolicked below with us!
Clear winter waters and the sun above a mooring rope full of delicate anenomes.
We always try and be respectful of wildlife in our interactions but sometimes it interacts with us without any effort. This Giant Pacific Octopus moved out of its liar to jump on this divers head. Tokina 10-16mm on Canon T2I in a Aquatica housing.
Giants Below! A Great Atlantic Hammerhead glides above the sand mere inches from the bottom.
Peek a boo! A close up of a Ruby Red Octopus as it uses its arms to cover up. An amazing cephalopod full of texture and color.
Over the Moon! Diver checking out the view of a Moon Jelly rising up from the depths off Vancouver Island!
