Different color sea fans. Taken at a depth of about 40ft on a recent trip to Raja Ampat during Xmas 2024. Taken by a friend using an Olympus OM-D with 2 strobes.

The colors of many Chromodorididae nudis are always striking and these species of Goniobranchus called kuniei is no exception.There are delicate nuances of complementary shades that help make it one of a kind_Jan 2025

Adult escorts are usually but not always related to the calf. An Aunt, sister, cousin, grandmother, or even its mother. They all look after the new one. (taken under permit)

Sea Hare egg mass - perhaps dropped from the pier above or stirred up from the nearby boat's propeller but as they are usually found on sandy sea floors I was surprised to see it above me (though quite happy to take advantage of the opportunity).

Mother and calf pair taken in vava'u, Tonga - this timid calf kept away from us but was in constant touch of mum and the obvious affection displayed was wonderful to see.
Taking shots of free divers under the ice. I did not have any directions for them, but would try to position myself in different places, to get some interesting shots. This was one of my favourites.

Jumped in the water at the dock. You'd be surprised what you find. Like this upside-down jelly(Cassiopea sp.) on a sunny day. Too bad the water was so green. Shot up close with a 10-17mm Tokina lens and Nikon 300S with Ikelite housing.
