I initially thought the markings to be some type of skin lesion, however after consulting a colleague of the White Tip Reef Foundation, he informed me these nasty looking marks on her gills and pecs are scars from mating bites from male sharks.

This small blenny (about 4cm) sat very patiently as the camera moved in... either that or it was too scared to move... Taiwan again, IXUS again
Lined Surgeon Fish shot with a Nikonous RS.
Inspired by nearby competition, this male humpback put some serious power into this series of forward lunges. In 7 years of whale watching, I had never seen a lunge like this from this angle. Taken with a canon 350d and 70-300 lens.
