My Website

Fabrice JaineThis is my first year into photography. I have been playing with my Olympus E410 camera on land since September last year and just recently purchased an IKELITE housing for it. I am still missing the strobes but still manage to play around with it in the meantime. Most of my photos so far have been shot while free diving as I did not feel the need to get scuba certified. However, since diving equals more time underwater, I got certified a few weeks ago and can now spend hours composing my shots! I am a marine biologist based in eastern Australia. My research focuses on the movements of the east Australian manta ray population. Hence, I spend a lot of time playing in the water with the animals, which allows me to slowly develop my skills.FranceFrance

Tobias Friedrich“From birth, man carries the weight of gravity on his shoulders. He is bolted to earth. But man has only to sink beneath the surface and he is free.” Jacques-Yves Cousteau When I was a child I loved to watch the adventures of the Calypso with Jacques-Yves Cousteau as it's captain and the beautiness of the world that is below the ocean's surface. It's still an overwhelming feeling for me when I have the chance to dive. I love the elegancy and calmness of the world under water standing in contrast to the hectic atmosphere above. I'm shooting with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II in a UK-GERMANY housing. My most used lenses under water are the Canon 17-40mm wideangle and the 100mm Canon macro lense. The pictures are lighted with two Ikelite DS-125 strobes that got some modifications from Mike-Dive and positioned by ULCS strobe arms. I'm trying to shoot my pictures as best as I can and to always learn from the experiences. So, Mr. Cousteau, please guide me. I'd appreciate it. :-) ...My Website
