This is one of my favorite & special dive site. Its only 5 minutes from my Gipsy Divers Redang. Its a submermeged bedrock / mount surrounded by sand. Maximum depth here is approx. 19 meters & its for all level diver. Experience divers may ops. at the reef edge & outer reef till the sandy area for rarities.
This site is best visit during begining of dive season in East Coast Peninsular which is March-May where viz can get till 20-25 meters. Normally the water temp. is 28-30 degrees celcius. The suitable time to dive here is during flooding tide where its shelter from the flooding tide. There's a mooring line for dive boat attached on top of the reef 7 it makes it easy to spot this site.
There's plenty of life on the reef atarting at 8 meters on the tip with huge amount of damsels & fusiliers swimming about the acropora corals. It is also known for brilliant wide angle shots of sea fan on the wall at 15 meters.
Pelagics such as gold spotted trevally & black tip reef shark can be seen here hunting when the tide 's coming in!
Occasionally jenkins ray can be seen resting on the sandy area. Photographers will look for critters here....devil scorpionfishes, zanzibar shrimp, Chromodoris nudis, flatworms & even banded shrimps & jann's pipefishes in crevices.
A good guide with proper plan will make this an enjoyable dive with ample bottom time!
Overall its my Top 10 dive site in Malaysia!
