2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire.  This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away.  Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

Grasping Arms
The basket star is also known as the jewel of the ocean due to its complex patterns. It has outstretched arms to adhere itself to a palmate fan and also to catch drifting food.

Although common to the Cape Peninsula waters this particular gas flame nudibranch put on an amazing technicolor dreamcoat

The walking sea-anemone is unique to the Cape Peninsula. It is covered in red papillae and is a voracious predator of the multicolor sea-fan.

The Coral Nudibranch is unique to False Bay, Cape Peninsula, South Africa and further east. It derives its name from feeding on soft coral.
