2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire. This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away. Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

Bridled goby. Turks and Caicos. D100 in L&M housing. 105 mm.
Don't schoolmasters have that knack of keeping an eye on you in class, no matter what you do! Canon A70 & internal flash. This one reminds me of my old Physics teacher, he had a large sloping forehead too!
"A neighborhood of Feather Dusters". These Feather Dusters have made their home on the bow of the Prince Albert directly off the Gazebo at Fantasy Island in the Bay Islands. Photo was taken w/ my DC500 and no strobes.
Any idea what this is? I believe it is a swimming crinoid. D100 in L&M housing with 105 lens. Turks and Caicos.
One of my favorite sunsets from Dominica
Coral banded shrimp. Canon Digial rebel. Grand Cayman 2/06
"Blue Lightning". Caribbean reef fish. Nikonos V with 35 mm lens.
This is a closeup of star polyps open for feeding.
The "Oro Verde" wreck, Grand Cayman. It's well and truly smashed up now by succesive storms, but the larger parts make an interesting photo. Taken with Canon A70 and natural light.
"Double Vision". Lobster with two sets of eyes? New to me. Found hiding in boiler room of wreck of RMS Rhone. Virgin Gorda. Fuji E900 with DS-125.
This chain moray proved to be very shy indeed. I had to wait for almost 10 minutes for him to come out of his crevice...
The underwater world provides photo ops of things never seen...
Goby's hangin' out. St. John USVI
My dive buddy swims around the stern of the Sea Star II wreck off the coast of Grand Bahama.

Beautiful coral in Dominica
Moon jellyfish are about the size of a basketball and safe to touch on the outer dome.
"Shadows Over The Sand" Spadefish sailing over the sand as we spent off nitrogen at Turneffe in Belize at the end of a dive. This photo was taken with a DC200 and no strobe in 2005.
Juvenile Drum! Finally, I got a decent shot of one while in Grand Cayman. Nikon D70, 105mm, Inon D-2000 strobes
Juvenile conch on a beautiful white sand bottom, eyeballing a homo sapiens. Me. If it's lucky and a moratorium against overfishing remains in place, it can live to be 20-30 years old. Fuji E900 w/ built-in flash. Virgin Gorda.
Party Balloon - Happy looking balloonfish on Calabas Reef, Bonaire. 35-80mm, Ikelite SLR
Queen and Orange Sponge from "Turtle Reef", Grand Cayman. Canon A70 using internal flash in a shady area at the bottom of the mini wall.
