2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire.  This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away.  Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

3 Amigos! These squid were very curious and really checked me out after I hung in the water for a bit.
I love the contrast of this colorful Christmas Tree Worm against the coral.

This is the shot I took right after the one that just won the Global National Geographic Photographic Competition (Nature category). I was astounded that the little crustacean held still that long. Peppermint shrimp in a branching vase sponge 75 fsw.

Barrel sponge beauty in gardens of the sea.
Within a branching vase sponge, lit from outside with a UK Light Cannon, a peppermint shrimp comes forward... Have to get very close with the camera and the torch, but the slightest touch sends the shrimp running.

This Spanish Hogfish wanted me to back up. Taken with a 100 mm macro lens on a Canon 40D in an Ikelite housing and Ikelite strobes.
