2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire. This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away. Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

This ctenophore reminds me a bit of the movie " Abyss ".
" guidepost "
To the exit? Wait... ...hmm... ...that way!
So easy can be navegation with natural auxiliaries. Sometimes you just have to ask for the right way. smile
Fangtooth moray defending its territory
Fireworm in the seabed close to the shipwreck "El Condesito" in Tenerife
Rouget de Roche de nuit
" out of the dark "
Why this cuttlefish came so close? Was it the light of the torch, or my new aftershave? :-)

Even at night this Flabellina ( Flabellina affinis ) takes care on their offspring.

This is one of 3 photos on the internet that shows a "Paragalene longicrura" alive. After Prof. Dr. Türkay ( Senckenberg Institute, Germany ) and Prof. Joan Luis Petrus ( University of Barcelona, Spain ) confirmed the species, started a big party:)
This ctenophore ( lat. Leucothea multicornis ) show her “ iridescent light ” in very nice rainbow colors. The best time to see this small lightshow is in the dusk.

“ she dives “
She enjoys the feeling of weightlessness and is curious about the sights at this dive.
shortlistedShortlisted!
Flavellina affinis
shortlistedShortlisted!
This rare crystal jellyfish ( lat. Aequorea forskalea ) in the Mediterranean takes a tan and enjoys the last sunrays of the day.
shortlistedShortlisted!
"SMALL MET VERY SMALL". On the nose to this tiny Seagrass pipefish was this puppy, that was not bigger than 2 millimeters.
shortlistedShortlisted!
Jelly by night. This was a very lucky moment: I had attached the fisheye for that nightdive, a very unusual combination. Just entering the water we found this beautyful jellyfish. I think it will be very difficult to get such an opportunity again.
shortlistedShortlisted!
Pink Flabellina. Small, fragile, elegant and colorful. An absolute beauty in the world of sea slugs.
shortlistedShortlisted!
Underwater shopping...they just can't let it be ;-)
I have seen this squid at a night dive. Looks like I told him: "Hands up". Sure, I said nothing like that. :-)

Wrinkled crab vs shrimp. This photo has been realized in a cave for a night dive. This unequal struggle lasted only a few seconds.
Tiger Moray
Wonder the pain it must be to close that mouth !!
Palm Mar Cave, Tenerife.
Olympus E330, 14-54mm, single Ikelite DS125 strobe.
Rock colours
An otherwise barren rock turns out to be very colourful in the light og the flash. The diver is my wife on the Atlantis divesite, Tenerife.
