nik. D2x - sealion on galapagos, this was the best checkdive i ever had

This photo was taken at fantasy reef off the south side of Oahu, Hawaii. It was my 3rd picture with my sealife 5 megapixel camera with strobe. I was about 12 inches away.

Leaf Fish with Protruding mouth.
We happened upon this leaf fish where we I happened to change over to full manual. When he open his mouth the second time I happened to be focused and ready to take a picture. To my surprise it came out beutifully.
Parrotfish chomping on coral.
This image was shot during the San Diego fires in 2003. Due to the extreme coverage of smoke and ash in the air the sky stayed a warm color for about 4 days. This was taken around 10am at Seaside Reef in Cardiff. The surfer is Gavin Sutherland.

Blue ring octopuss. It was our last dive in PNG and my both strobes failed before seeing it. I had to go up, borrow another set and go down again hoping to find him again. He was very kind though and waited for me.
