2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire. This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away. Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

This guy was waiting for us as my wife and I surfaced after a dive. He just sat there as I swam closer and closer but hardly seemed to notice me.
So common here I pass them by all the time but .....
Lettuce Sea Slug Bonaire Dutch Caribbean 60mm +10 Diopter
There are lots of invasive lion fish in the area where I'm diving right now. Since they don't move much they make good subjects to practice underwater skills for a beginner.
This photo was taken with a Canon G12 in an Ikelite housing. Only the on-camera strobe was used. I took dozens of photos of anemones over several dives before I started getting anything decent. This is one of my first passable shots.

Lemon shark on the prowl
Spotted Cleaner Shrimp Bonaire Dutch Caribbean
Peppermint Shrimp dancing in the spot liight.

Many people see the underwaterworld as an alien place. With this silhouet the diver comes across as a sinister "War of the worlds-like" preying on an innocent puffer fish.

Just south of the Rappel mooring,a shelf between the shore and the blue, in 25' we found this Marlin, 6’ sticking out of a small cave under an overhang, 6’ + and the spike are jammed in the hole. How did it get stuck, was it chasing food? suicide?
