2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire. This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away. Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

Curiosity
This young white shark was incredibly curious about my camera in the water. Every pass it made it came up and gaped in front of it, trying to grab it in it's mouth to figure out what my camera was.

Wide Open
I had the camera on the end of a pole for this one. After many failed attempts and near misses, everything aligned - I got the right shark, the right angle, the right camera depth, and the right timing - and I ended up with this beauty.

Amazing capture! Timing is everything...
Sea swallows are pelagic nudibranchs which feed on blue bottles out in the open ocean. They are therefore rarely spotted along the coast so I am a very lucky photographer indeed! Occasionally strong winds can blow them shore wards with blue bottles.
