2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire. This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away. Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

The Daily pygmy... this time I had to wait over 50min in the surge before that she got brave enough to get out of the weed...
I stacked two wet lenses to make this portrait of pygmy pipe-horse fish

Mu mum said I am beautiful!!!
leafy frontal shot
sea dragon sketch
green is the new black!!! I just enhanced the natural color of the water to obtain this green backdrop
Diving in the sun... very murky water and few friendly dragons...
"Natural Colors" just the background is been manipulated (minimally) to remove almost all of the colors and leave it neutral so the dragons stands out in its natural colors
Not much manipulation required. I have uploaded the one with the original water color as well so you can compare. I just used the curve tool on the already burnt sun burst and then dodged a bit the rest of the water around the dragon...
Dance into the light...
The vis dropped to less than 1m during the dive.so I made use of the milky white water to achieve clear background. Minimal PS involved, just the curve tool. Also no fiddling I just waited for the surge to bring it to me!!!
"lost into the blue" the dragon was swimming in the current and pushed by the surge. careful position of myself under the boulders allowed me to take this shot into the blue...
shortlistedShortlisted!
Vis was bad to start with then deteriorated during the dive to below 1m... but hey I finally got to see the leafy!!! shot taken in the surge
The background is natural. The clear tone is given by the water column and the far away rocks. I waited > 10minutes to take this shot as the little fellow was moving between the weed to hunt small crustaceans
shortlistedShortlisted!
Pelican by the sea Port Stevens New South Wales
Picture of the camouflaged head of a wobbegong shak

Again to obtain the white background I used one of the strobes to illuminate the reflective sand. I then completed the job with PS
