2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire. This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away. Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

swimming up for a meal... attracted by my lights the shrimp was challenging death to get a meal
The colors of the night in Australia... I used multiple strobes to give the illusion to dive with squids during the day (night dive) squids were happily swimming very close...
"Strobe malfunction"... who said that when your strobes go off-sync is always a bad thing? do to leakage in one of the strobes battery, one of the strobe was missfiring or firing like a strobo light and I think this caused the different tones
shortlistedShortlisted!

Bubble love... very small ones I had to use the +10
The colors of the night here in Australia... I used multiple strobes to lit the sandy bottom and create a day-light illusion...squids were very pleased with it...

Interracial?? or casual encounter?? strange things happen in the meshes of the shark nets...maybe what happens into the nets stays into the nets... :D
Minimal use of PS, I used 3 strobes to create the image. one strobe to the subject and 2 on the white sand
Runner Up - worthy of note but not a medal winner - an equal 4th place if you like! Runner Up 2016

Courting couple (Sydney's pygmy pipe-horse fish)
Monster... the little squid was using my lights to hunt mid-water. I really enjoyed it
shortlistedShortlisted!
Is this my best side?? the pajama squid took advantage of my lights to hunt mid water
shortlistedShortlisted!
"Belly" Grey Nurse Shark
"Jaws Theme" Grey Nurse Shark
The Daily pygmy... this time I had to wait over 50min in the surge before that she got brave enough to get out of the weed...
I stacked two wet lenses to make this portrait of pygmy pipe-horse fish
shortlistedShortlisted!
Mu mum said I am beautiful!!!
green is the new black!!! I just enhanced the natural color of the water to obtain this green backdrop
Diving in the sun... very murky water and few friendly dragons...
The background is natural. The clear tone is given by the water column and the far away rocks. I waited > 10minutes to take this shot as the little fellow was moving between the weed to hunt small crustaceans
shortlistedShortlisted!
Again to obtain the white background I used one of the strobes to illuminate the reflective sand. I then completed the job with PS
Full Octo-moon This time my reverse ring macro toy did not worked as I expected. But...
I have been called on assignment: depict the emotion of a shark dive at Manly aquarium, so I wanted to depict the emotion of facing a "friendly" sand tiger shark. This pic is taken diving in the large shark enclosure
shortlistedShortlisted!
