Gentle Giant! They hadn't had a Manta Ray in the double lagoon for 15years and we had the privledge to swim with this one (our first on ever) for 5 minutes before it flew off into the blue. Canon T2I in Aquatica with Tokina 10-17mm and twin strobes.

On a recent dive just off Vancouver Island we ran into a school of 12-15 Spiny Dogfish Sharks. They were standoffish at first then this 5-6 footer swam up for a closer look and I managed to get this close up from only a couple 4-5ft away! Enjoy!

Twin Rocks is famous for its jacks but these smaller fish schooled together to look like a huge fish I had to take the picture. The pinnacle, fish and sun made for a great photo.

This 3 cm baby flying fish was caught just away from a small raft of sea weed and the riot of colors shape was to much to let pass by. Enjoy!

An Egg Yolk Jelly with a cross Jelly in its stomach makes this tiny Jelly look like a shape shifter. With a body so translucent that it is hard to see at times it can be hard to know who is who when your stomach is full of a Jelly cousin.

Fried Egg Jellyfish hanging in the black depths of the Pacific Northwest.
A mouthful of Red Urchin. A young Wolf Eel eating one of its favorite foods.
A Northern Ronquiel all alight in its breeding splendor!
Sometimes the change from young to old in a fish is drastic. The Wolf Eel starts out translucent and a long ribbon. Then settles down on the bottom to hunt this picture is of a Juvenile and it has bold colors and markings.
A cold water assassin in loose sand the sculpin awaits its next meal. Canon T2i with 1oo mm macro and sea and sea ds1's from below to elongate the shadows!

A passer by in the dark! A nite dive turns into a frantic attempt to catch the majestic Great Atlantic Hammerhead as they zoom pass our line of strobes and photographers!

"Photo Bombed" The Stellar Sea Lions of Norris Rocks off Vancouver Island Canada are playful, curious and intelligent animals. Sometimes they just show up at the right time!

These things should come with a warning " Things in the view finder may be closer than they appear "! My wife shooting some video with my backup system and this Great Atlantic Hammerhead came in to check her out. The video is great crunch!

A stubby squid in flight! A night dive brings an unexpected jewel. This brilliant squid floats thru the dark sea waiting for its next shrimp meal. Canon 100mm macro with dual sea and sea d1 strobes.

On display! The Decorated Warbonnet!
An Explosion of Color! The Red Irish Lord is an ambush hunter and uses camouflage to hide. It is amazing that this vibrant fish hides in the cool waters off Vancouver Island Canada!
A Fireworks worth of Colour! 100mm macro and +5 diopter Canon T2I in Aquatica Housing with twin Sea and Sea 110a strobes.
The Long Fin Gunnel is a voracious little hunter that can be seen zipping along the bottom checking every nook and cranny. This one paused long enough for an extreme close up.
Sharky figures swim below! Hydrolagus colliei or Spotted Pacific Ratfish!
16 arms of love! We found a pair of mating Giant Pacific Octopus and they were all arms! Taken with a Canon T2I in an Aquatica housing with a Tokina 10-17mm at 17mm and duel Sea and Sea 100a.
