Peoples' Vote

2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire. This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away. Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

Flabellina has a specialized diet based on hydroid polyps. Just look for the colonies of these polyps (similar to small bushes often positioned on the tops of rocks to catch current) to find it more easily!_June 2024

Contrasts make a photo more interesting. Apart from the black of background, the orange with purple tips of "cerata" compared to the white bodies plays in favor & composition of two Cratena with different focus.July2024

The Ischian flabellina is a close cousin of the lilac one with which it is confused. The epidermis of the Ischia cerati is transparent and thus allows a glimpse of the bright orange ducts of the digestive gland_ June2024

Since July here in Sicily you can see many more Cratene than before, close together, intent on laying eggs a few meters deep, let's say around fifteen meters. An excellent time to shot some of them in pairs._July_2024
