2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire.  This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away.  Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

shots taken using ambient light i.e. unlit by flash or continuous lighting like HID but filters on the lens are allowed if declared
Turtle and Nina. A picture taken at the Mnebe Atoll of the coast of Zanzibar. The deepth was about 15 meters and I had some trouble getting some colour into the picture.

I shot this image of a West Indian Manatee at Blue Spring State Park in central Florida. Fortunately, is was a clear sunny day so there was plenty of ambient light available for good exposure.

These little, green creatures hid well inside the coral whenever I approached. By hovering motionless over the corals, I was able to lure them out and managed to get a few pictures before they retreated into hiding.

JUNGLE THROUGH THE WATER.Taken whilst diving in the Cenotes in the Yucatan jungle, Mexico Feb.2005. The water is a mixture of sea and sweet water, which gives this picture an opaque look.

This lovely French Angel in Turks and Caicos was shadowing a huge turtle and was busy feasting on the turtle's coral crumbs. I took this photo with an Olympus c5060 5.1 megapixle digital.

this guy took our breath away , the first time we ever saw a manta up close. sea & sea 5000
Giant Manta at Sha'ab Rumi outside Port Sudan. The diving depth was 32 meters, so this is close to the absolute limit for natural light photography. Camera: Canon Powershot A70 in original housing. The "wingspan" of the manta was about 12 feet.
Alex under the ice, in a fresh water lake i Vagnhärad, south of Stockholm. When the sun shines at the snow on the ice it works as a gigantic fluorescent lamp and everything under the ice gets very light.
