2024 has been the year of the bait ball in Bonaire. This tired turtle is looking for a place to rest, oblivious of the cyclone of big eye scan just meters away. Shot with a Nikon Z8/Nauticam housing/INON z330 strobes.

anything man-made that is sunk including cars, tanks, planes etc. - oh and ships!
La Machaca wreck Bonaire. Take with Nikon Coolpix 990 + Ikelite Housing and UR filter
SS Thistlegorm
The Fumizuki is a 310' x 45' destroyer as can be seen from this frontal profile. During the attack on Truk Lagoon, she settled right on her keel. This shot is to show her sleekness but tries to hightlight the growth on her anchor chain.

Kinda spooky - great feel Ron
This is part of the large A frame engine on the Pelinaion, sunk during WWII off the northeast coast of Bermuda. I was pretty please with the contrast between the rust and the blue of the water!
Still life from the Heian Maru after 65 years on the bottom. Note the cruise line logo on the bowl. Shot on top of deck at 60 feet with Nikon Coolpix 5000 in Ikelite housing. If you haven't been to Truk, you gotta' go! Dive cheerfully!
Another part of the superstructure of the Cristobal Colon in Bermuda
Wreck of the Elviscott in Elba. 17mm shot.
The HUGE Wreck of Salem Express a Ferry Ship that Sank 1998 and was carring 2000 persons their cars and cargo.
Taken with Nikon Coolpix 5000 at 138' in the hold of a downed ship. There were 17 of these trucks all in a row. Incredible!
SS Thistlegorm, locomotive on deck
One of the few shots I managed to get on the Cristobal Colon (largest shipwreck in Bermuda) before my camera died! The fish in the background are Sergeant Majors, probably the most abundant fish on this wreck.
At 145 feet, a diver approaches a Sherman-Grant tank which lies on its side adjacent to the wreck of the Kolkhosnik, sunk off Halifax in 1942. Nikonos V, Sea&Sea 12mm lens, Tmax 400 B&W film, manual setting with single Ikelite 150 strobe fill.
SS Thistlegorm, The winch on the Bow with mooring line tied on
Taken at 80' with Nikon Coolpix 5000 in the Yamagiri Maru in Truk Lagoon. What am amazing dive site!
I found this shot really haunting - the faces look like the ship almost screamed going down! This is the Pelinaion, off Bermuda.
Thistlegorm April 2006, the paravane on the starboard deck
Taken on a DC500 Pro, this is one of the winches from the Pelinaion, wrecked off the coast of Bermuda at the start of WWII.
Cable winch on the Million Hope wreck in Nabq area, Sinai with Olympus C60.
Diver above bathysphere, Capernwray.
10.5mm.
Photographer on the wreck of the Giannis D at Abu Nuhas. Nikon D70, natural light, orange filter, 16mm lens
Runner Up - worthy of note but not a medal winner - an equal 4th place if you like! Runner Up 2006
