Different color sea fans. Taken at a depth of about 40ft on a recent trip to Raja Ampat during Xmas 2024. Taken by a friend using an Olympus OM-D with 2 strobes.

Adult escorts are usually but not always related to the calf. An Aunt, sister, cousin, grandmother, or even its mother. They all look after the new one. (taken under permit)

Smaller subjects typically 1 to 3 inches (2.5 to 7.5cm) shot on macro settings or with macro equipment that are in MID WATER not touching anything (i.e. between 1:1 and 1:3)

This Porcupine fish got a little prickly as I got close. Picture taken at Hooks Dive Curacao, visibility +/- 30ft., depth 50ft. Camera Sony DSC-W200 in Ikelite housing with tropical filter. Settings high ISO sensitivity, no flash, no zoom.
