Different color sea fans. Taken at a depth of about 40ft on a recent trip to Raja Ampat during Xmas 2024. Taken by a friend using an Olympus OM-D with 2 strobes.

Adult escorts are usually but not always related to the calf. An Aunt, sister, cousin, grandmother, or even its mother. They all look after the new one. (taken under permit)

Juvenile Lion-Fish. It took me ages to get this shot....he always sticked with the reef. Finally, I catched the point where he came to the "open water". Was only for seconds, but it was enough ;-)

This little squid followed my dive light around. In between posing for pics, it would nab those little squiggling sea bugs that like to add themselves as living backscatter in photos. It was a kind of symbiotic relationship that couldn't last.
