Part of the Pinellas County artificial reef system, Veterans Reef was dedicated to the memory of our military veterans. There are two commemorative plaques located near the center buoy. The reef is composed of a variety of objects and materials:

Near Sabalos, Mexico
I was told the the dive guide that in the 4 years they had been diving the Playa del Carmen area that they had never had the opportunity to dive in the Bonefish shoals. They come together rarely and definately not in the numbers we dived in. At the bottom of the shoal the sunlight was blocked out by the number of fish. It was an experience like no other, with the bonefish parting infront of us and then coming back together behind us. We were cacooned in bonefish :-)
The shoal was at lest 10 metres deep and carpeted the entire seabed beneath us. The front edge of the shoal was like a wall of fish. We did 2 dives in the shoal. Aparently in the afternoon the dive guides went back to the shoal to dive and had bull sharks feeding on the bonefish.
