Large group of rocks with silty bottom around 25m deep. This spot is known for concentrating several individuals of small-spotted catsharks (Scyliorhinus canicula), known in Portuguese as "pata-roxa", a species which is relatively rare along the Portuguese coast due to overfishing.

Ridge of rock from -3m to -15m around a muddy bottom. Special license needed from the Setubal harbor authority. Diving is only possible during the turn of the tide and rarely exceeding 60 minutes bottom time due to the strong current. The ridge if covered with large colonies of ascideans and sea fans. The muddy bottom is ideal to find many sea slugs but a very good buoancy is required. Shore diving is possible from the Albarquel beach but there are no dive centers in that place.

Wreck of the gunship "Faro" sunk in February 27th 1912 after colliding with a tugboat. The boiler is well preserved and houses large conger eels which often leave their dens to investigate nearby divers. Due to the nearby rivers, the bottom is covered with soft sediment which can easily affect visibility so a good buoyancy control is required. Besides all the animals living in the wreck, including the above mentioned conger eels, some forkbeards, numerous scorpionfish and octopuses, the sandy bottom also has interesting animals such as weevers, flatfish and headshield slugs. Macro subjects can also be found all around the wreck.

This is an old Tall ship that get wrecked at the West coast of Smøla, an island NW of Kristiansund. It is about 12nautical miles to go by boat from Kristiansund. The picture was taken in January and the visibility was good. The dive spot is not sheltered from winds from North, West an South and that is the main wind direction here. The depth is from 10m to 18m. The photo equipment I used: Canon 5D Mark 2 with 15mm Fisheye and Aquatica housing
