United States PacificIs very low viz most of the time but water clears at about 40 feet. Lots of divers go to this site for training. Has easy access to shore and a short surface swim. Great place to dive but not if low viz concerns you. I have gotten some great shots of octopus, starfish, crabs, lingcod, and a sculpture of an angel placed there by divers. I like this sight because of it’s easy access and rich marine life.

Croatia Adriatic SeaNew dive shop opened at this luxury resort on the Adriatic coast of Croatia.
Vis was bad early in the year, summer is best, but with plenty of tourists crowds. Large boulders, wall diving, lots of octopus, lobsters, scorpion fish, nudis...not many fish, but interesting to look about.

Malaysia South China SeaTioman Island (locally, Pulau Tioman) is a small island located 32 km off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia in the state of Pahang, and is some 39 km long and 12 km wide. It has eight main villages, the largest and most populous being Kampung Tekek in the north. Yet, the densely forested island is still sparsely inhabited, and is surrounded by numerous coral reefs, making it a scuba diving haven.
Its beaches were depicted in the 1958 movie, South Pacific as Bali Hai. In the 1970s, TIME Magazine selected Tioman as one of the world’s most beautiful islands.
Apart from its diverse marine life, the inland rainforest area, encompassing approximately 12,383 hectares, in Tioman is a strictly enforced nature reserve. There are several protected species of mammals on the island, including the Binturong, Long-tailed Macaque, Slow Loris, Black Giant Squirrel, Red Giant Flying Squirrel, Mouse deer, Brush-tailed Porcupine, and Common Palm Civet, from a total of 45 species of mammals and 138 species of birds, including the majestic Frigatebird. Moreover, Tioman has species that are endemic to its shores. The soft-shelled turtle and the Tioman walking catfish are both unique and can be seen on rainforest walks.
The island is served by ferries from the Malaysian mainland, and a propeller plane service by Berjaya Air from Singapore (Seletar Airport) and Kuala Lumpur (Subang Airport)

Indonesia Andaman SeaWeh Island or Pulau Weh or Pulo Weh is a small active volcanic island to the northwest of Sumatra. It was originally connected to the Sumatran mainland and became separated by sea after the volcano's last eruption in the Pleistocene era.[1] The island is situated in the Andaman Sea. The largest city on the island, Sabang, is the westernmost outpost of Indonesia.
The island is known for its ecosystem; the Indonesian government has declared 60 km² of inland and sea around the island as a wildlife protection area. A rare megamouth shark species was found on shore and the island is the only habitat for the threatened toad, Bufo valhallae (genus Bufo). Coral reef areas around the island are known for their large variety of fish species.

Portugal Atlantic (European coastal)A shallow spot but with lots of small animals, especially nudibranchs. Some dive centers in the vicinity but few dive there so you better rent or take or own gear.

Mexico Caribbean SeaThis is a fresh water cenote deep inside of Mexico. Jacques Cousteau once dove this location with many archaeologists and palontologists as they discovered Mayan artifacts here. They have a museum in the park where they display an est. 6000 year old mammoth skull also found at this site. There are 3 cenotes, all volcanicly heated. 33,66, and 99 feet. All circle in shape with ancient petrified trees laying over inside the pools. Water is crystal clear and around 88 degrees year around. Very difficult to get to and remote but worth the adventure. They have a park entrance that you will pay around 100 pesos to get in and you can stay at the local hotel, good food and friendly people. They will offer you plane rides to check out the incredible mountains surrounding this small town, its cheap and worth it. Best to go with a group of people and schedule it ahead of time with the local dive shop. check out my pictures of this site in Rio Verdo, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. "The Media Luna"

Fiji PacificThis was my first trip to Fiji. I stayed at Qamea beach resort. It does have a dive shop that offers instruction and diving. This resort doesn't get a large amount of divers at a time. I found this great because most of the week it was just myself and the dive master. The Qamea House reef is the reef right off the shore at Qamea Beach club. The reef begins in very shallow water and will reach depths of 130+ feet. I found the condition of the reef excellent. Most of the coral formation on this reef are stoney types of coral. The fish life is great with all the normal reef fish, large populations of clown fish, several lion fish, a turtle a times and it is not uncommon to see some small white tip reef sharks. The visibility on this reef was very good. depending on what the tide was doing the vis could drop down a bit. You could tell what this vis was going to be from the shore, the shallow part of the reef starts about ten feet off the beach in front of the dive shop, you could stand at the shop and look at the reef if was clear you knew it would only be better at the deeper parts. I only got to dive this reef once but I did snorkel on it everyday while I was there. I am a SCUBA junkie but I found this reef to be just as wonderful while snorkeling do to so much of it being in shallow water.
