United States PacificElectric Beach gets it's name from the power plant across the street. It's located on Oahu's West side. Just take H-1 freeway west until it ends and turns into Farrigton highway. Continue on farrington highway untill you pass the Ko Olina exit. Electric beach will be on the left in just a nother 1/2 mile. Electric Beack AKA Kahe point State beck Park is one of the few places you can dive year round and that makes it also a popular training site. I got my start here back in 1994. Since then i've done hundreds of dives here and seen everything from sharks, dolphins turtles and rays to nudibranches, all the tropical fish to harliquin shrimp. The dives usually range from 20-40 FSW and last about 80 minutes. Water temp ranges from 70 in the winter to 82 in the summer. Vis is from 30-100 feet. The unique thing about this dive site are the two big hot water discharge pipes about 500 feet off shore. The powerplant brings in sea water to cool the turbines then discharges to water back off shore. It's really nice to swim by in the winter time for a warm up.
See you in the sea soon, Stu

Egypt Red SeaThey say that most house reefs in Egypt are destroyed and not worth diving. I did quite a few dives at the reef and, whereas there might be a lot of destruction to the coral visible, there is still a lot to be seen there. I could have done 2-3 dives in the seagrass alone and filled a 2GB card in my camera.

Puerto Rico Caribbean SeaPlaya Crashboat is an excellent diving site. It is located on Route 107 in Aguadilla. Offering easy shore entry and exits, it is a must dive for all levels of divers. There are four piers above the water and one sunken. Originally, Navy boats docked there to be ready to rescue downed airplanes from the former Ramey Air Force Base. Max. depth around the piers is 35 feet. There is a vast amount of marine life on the piling of the piers. Often you find a lobster or two under the sunken pier. Turtles and seahorses linger around the pilings. The sandy bottom is home to gobies and queen conch.
For the technical diver, a sunken buoy sits at 120' feet of water. Local divers have marked with lines routes to points of interest such as the "tires" and the sunken buoy.
Puerto Rico Technical Diving Center offers guided shore dives to Playa Crashboat (and other local dive sites) during the day or night for a reasonable fee. Experienced divers may want to rent equipment and do a self-guided tour. PRTDC will give a complimentary briefing to its customers upon request about the conditions and route.
-DAY OR NIGHT--Good all around dive

Malta Mediterranean SeaPretty difficult (hard work) to get to the entry point unless you boat dive it.
Wind has to be perfect for the shore dive as the exit point can be difficult.

MaltaAn extremely accessible yet diverse and interesting wreck dive coupled with 2 separate anchors, a shallow but colorful wall and an underwater statue placed their recently by divers.
The wreck, which is called the Rosi, is of large size and lies just very slightly tilted. The deepest part, the propeller, lies at 32 meters. It is in pristine condition and is visited often by divers who bring food and thus have encouraged large shoals of friendly, medium and small sized fish. Small groupers are frequent spots, as too are large Morey ells.

Saudi Arabia Arabian SeaLots of wrecks of busses , cars , pick ups , and tires . Fish are small . The visibility is bad because the the water is not deep ( 22 feet max. ) . Diving in July , August and September is hard because of the very hot wearther . there is no currents at all so it is a good place for traning and bigenners . The sea bed is mud . The place is almost empty of fish far of the wrecks.

Canada PacificMy dive #48 and 49 Aug 6,06. I booked a guided day with Great Ocean Adventures and they did a great job of looking after me in my first dry suit dives. both were Shore entries, the one not listed above Henderson point directly off the beach and Ogden Point off a 1 km breakwater on the south side of Victoria. Water temp 11 C Air temp 22 C at both.
Henderson Point, north up the inlet, had 1 ft brightly coloured sea stars, rockfish, crabs, sole, plain fin midshipman and moon snail egg casing that was 2ft in diameter.Depth 20m 39 minutes
Ogden Point is an interesting entry and exit off the breakwater with the tide trying to rub you on or off. A quick swim through a kelp and bed and we were down drifting along the breakwater and saw a Wolf Eel, Kelp Greenling, Big (2ft) Ling Cods and Orange Cucumbers.

We planned a dive into one of the cracks in the reef - the cave of Ras Mamlach, more than 100 meters deep.
Mission of the dive was to arrive at "the windows" - some openings at 65 m in the outer reef wall, leading to the blue water of the drop off...

Australia Indian OceanShip was a salt carrier until during a cyclone in may 1988 Unladened and unable to manouver was washed onto the cliff face , despite the best efforts of the crews of both the ship and the tug boats she was wrecked and broke up. Now sitting in 10-12 meters of water it has become a haven for large cod and groupers as well as tons of other marine life. The wreck itself has broken up quite a lot over the last 5 or so years but still parts of the ship defy mother nature and remain in tact.
Diving this wreck brings its own unquie problems and barriers. The swells that crash into the coast line are at time incredible and claim the lives of fishermen every so often. Access into and out of the water is the most difficult part of this dive, it is in short a calculated jump to enter the water and a mad scramble between the crashing wave to exit. NOT FOR THE INEXPERENCED OR FAINT HEARTED. Must only be attempted in times of minimal swell.
Other problems include surge and the ever present sharks that seem to frequent the area (the famous Garths Rock is 500 meters to the south).

East Timor Banda SeaLocation: 29.3km West of Dili. Find the Indonesian military graveyard for Indonesian soldiers killed during the 24-year occupation and park near the piles of white rocks.
Entry: The entry is straight out from the NW corner of the enclosure. Gradual entry on small rocks and sandy bottom.
UW profile: To the West there are coral gardens with brain coral formations. To the East, the area is marked by a predominantly sandy bottom with large coral formations. The sandy bottom is covered with small holes where hot water and gas caused by geothermal activity are escaping.

Topside There are no trees near the entry point but 100 - 120 meters to the West there is a large tree with good cover.
