Honduras Caribbean SeaThis is the most popular site for drift diving in Utila. The primary wall descends to approximately 70 feet, and then there is a sloping descent to a sandy bottom. Along the sand channel that separates these two areas, divers drift past caverns where they see abundant marine life. Spotted drums, squirrel fish, moray eels, trunk fish, trigger fish, turtles, sting rays, and midnight parrot fish are the standard fare.

Virgin Islands U.S. Caribbean SeaDiving on the Nekton Rorqual they spent a dive or so on this pier as there are lots of seahorse and other interesting things to see. This is shot on Kodachrome 25 and is a very low resolution scan. Has to be the best 32 foot dive I have ever done, but the best way to do it is to walk to the end of the pier, jump in and swim back..... most of the really good stuff is almost all the way at the end of the pier. I saw 5 different seahorse and all sorts of other juvenile fish.......

Egypt Red SeaSite is famous for dolphins could be often found there during daytime. However diving is not the best approach to get in touch with them. Most appropriate way is to setup a zodiak and ride the reef around with snorklers onboard. Dive ships will point the location of dolphins groups and zodiac could quickly reach one and drop off people. Wide angle supposed, no external flash recommended to be taken as it enlarges equipment wieght and volume - having a need to go 5-7m deep by freediving it's better to keep equipment as lightweight as possible.
Besides dolphins there's a lot of marine life, some caves and a shallow water reef.

Honduras Caribbean SeaShallow sand channels, deep channels, a cavern, and a steep wall provide something of interest for everyone. Hundreds of fish usually congregate here, and we often see large turtles, green morays, and rays at this site. Hard and soft corals abound, and the reef is amazing here. Be careful as you explore, if you do an unguided dive. It's called the Maze for a reason!

Honduras Caribbean SeaThis site provides divers with a small wall, shallows, and a shallow cavern in which to find an assortment of fish from juveniles to large tarpon. I have seen Southern Sting Rays, nurse sharks, and huge crabs here, in addition to scorpion fish, sand dollars, and numerous "typical" Caribbean species.

Honduras Caribbean SeaThis site has a small wall starting around 35 feet and continuing to 90 about feet. Although there is a drop-off further out to sea, only tech divers explore the outer reaches of this site. In addition to seeing a myriad of hard and soft corals, recreational divers often see spotted eagle rays, turtles, and green morays here in addition to the more common Caribbean marine species. Although most divers dive this site from a day boat, it is also accessible from the shore.

Sudan Red SeaSanganeb (Sanganeab) Atoll is located a short distance outside Port Sudan. It was the only place we actually set foot on Sudan terrirory after clearing Customs in Port Sudan. (We stayed on the liveaboard while our crew efficiently cleared us in and out of Customs). The diving in the Sudanese waters was tremendous. The reefs are uncrowded; we only saw one other dive boat during almost 2 weeks in Sudan. The fish life is wonderful and the visibility is great. Unfortunately, the water was warm in September, and we only saw a couple of sharks. However, other large life made up for the missing sharks, such as schools of bumphead parrotfish, squadrons of manta rays, and a few Napolean wrasses.

Indonesia PacificBubble Coral Shrimp are really small critters who like to hide in the crevasses of the bubble coral. They are translucent to the point that sometimes you only see the blue outlines of their appendages. These little carpet shrimp are so small and hidden that they are almost impossible to see. You just have to look closely each time you come on to their habitat.
