HMCS Chaudiere

   Canada  Pacific
This is a great wreck dive. The first of a fleet of old Canadian navy vessels to be sunk on Canada's west coast; this vessel was sunk by the Artificial Reef Society of British Columbia, December 5, 1992. It didn't go down as planned, as this wreck ended up on it's port side and slid down the underwater bank a little farther than planned. Her bow sits at about 130'+ feet, while her stern can be from 60'-80', depending on the tides. The ship is covered with anemones, nudibranchs, and there have been reports of some ling cod and octopi residing in the area. Further training is necessary if you are planning on penetrating the wreck. It can get pretty silty in there, so make sure you've got the proper training before venturing inside!!

The sister islands of Ko Rok Nok and Nai are home to pristine reefs and some of Thailands most beautiful beaches. Coral gardens line the lslands beaches and provide divers and snorkelers with crystal clear waters and an abundance of marine life. Turtle Reef at Dive Tech right next door to the famous Turtle farm

   Cayman islands  Gulf Of Mexico
Easy entry! Short 4' climb down a ladder watching for swells. Immediate corals. 20' swim to clear entry area, drops to approx.15'. Nice lazy swim uw in an easy surge for about 100yds. When you reach the edge of horse shoe shaped wall, it's a good time to double check with buddy(s). Bottom at this point drops to about 50' to 65'. You can stay above coral in 25' on the left and right. Beautiful, very colorful, many species of fish large and small, eels, scorpion fish, turtles, many varieties of coral, sea fans... OR, you can glide straight off the wall. fantastic formations left and right. On the left as you round the corner of the reef, there is a large, very large coral head not attached to the reef that you can spend quite a bit searching. If you stay to the reef wall around the corner, there is a huge over hang, usually filled with large tarpon just hanging out. The reef weaves in and out for a very long way, so watch your air. 1/3 out, 1/3 back, there is plenty to see without leaving the general entry area. Off to the right, the wall rather tucks in on itself down to the sea floor. simply awesome, best place in the world for night dives. Occasionally there is a gentle current, just keep yourself streamlined and take your time. There is so much to see. OR, check in at the Dive Tech Store and rent scooters. Oh, yeah, if you go straight out for a couple hundred yards from the first reef, you can reach the main wall, which of course drops down to extreme depths and encirles all of GCI. Dive safe, take pictures, leave only bubbles!!!

Edmonds Underwater Park at Bracketts Landing

   United States  Pacific
This is a 26 acre underwater park, marked by rope trails for navigational purposes. It is part of a marine sanctuary which disallows any type of fishing and boating. It is a shore dive with a max depth of around 40 ft. Home to some of the largest lingcod and cabezon found in the Pacific Northwest. Many different types or vertebrates and invertebrates can be found. On occasion a gray whale can be seen and a Giant Pacific Octopus has been known to take up residency. Probably one of the most dived sites on the west coast.

Shark Point

   Solomon islands  Solomon Sea
Dive this site with Dive Munda. It is about 20 minutes boat ride from Agnes Lodge. A spectacular wall dive, plunging down to 70 meters. There is a good chance of seeing hammerhead sharks, silver and black tip sharks, and the occasional oceanic white tip. Along the wall there are huge gorgonian sea fans and lush soft corals and thick whip corals. This makes an amazing early-morning dive as visibility can exceed 40 meters and the chance to see those big fish increases greatly. Although typically this is a deep dive to see the larger species of shark, the novice diver can enjoy this site as well at a shallower depth. The wall extends so close to the surface that it is possible to snorkel the site.

The Mermaid at Saltery Bay

   Canada  Pacific
An easy entry (wheelchair ramp into the water unless really low tide), fresh water rinse when you get out adjacent to a campground. Go out to the marker to find the sister mermaid to the one in Grand Caymen. Always a rock fish between her fingers and sea stars on her head. Staight out from her is a barren moon like landscape with huge boot and vase sponges, each with it's own resident fish, crab or...
Instead of going to the mermaid go right and stay in 5-20 feet of water to see buffalo sculpin, moon snails and all the tiny critters that like eel grass.
Love this dive

Mendocino Headlands State Park, California. Drop in point 100 yards west of the arc rock.

   United States
Dive 1: Drop in and go counter-clockwise around small island northwest of drop in. Keep the island wall to your right the whole time. At beginning of dive, (approximately 8 o'clock) depth is about 70 ft. As you progress around the island wall and reach 12 o'clock the depth rises to 50 ft. Once you reach the channel the depth becomes around 30 ft. If you have good air management you can do a complete lap around the island with one tank depending on how much stopping you do. WARNING: Due the Northern exposure of this dive the water can get unpredictable at times, especially in the channel. Make sure you do this dive on mellow days.

Dive 2: Drop in and go Northwest-west. An advanced dive ensues that starts you out at 70 ft. As you keep traveling in the same direction the dive gets deeper and deeper. At about 100-110 ft it's about time to turn around and head back. This dive is an advanced dive because of the depth, air management, and the navigation skills needed.

Dive 3: Drop in east of the point marked on map you will find a pipeline heading Southwest-west. You can follow the pipe to the end and back getting as deep as 70 ft. A nice dive with a lot to look at.

There are even more dives here in this area but these are my top three that I've found out here so far.

Pedra da Lagoa - Fonte da Telha

   Portugal  Atlantic (European coastal)
Cabana Divers at Fonte da Telha, near Lisbon, does offer one of the best dive sites of the portuguese continental coast - Pedra da Lagoa. Average visibility is around 10m but can reach more than 15m ocasionally, and 20m exceptionally. Many different species can be observed, from huge schools of small fish to more than 1,5m Corvinas (Argyrosomus regius). Mola Mola is also very common. Lobsters, nudibranchs, several crabb types also very regular. Other common fish species are the blacktails, Gilt-head seabreams, European seabass, etc. Because of the rocky bottom, this diving spot also holds many colorful gorgonies.
