Australia Indian Oceani used to work on a pearl farm 2 hours north of broome in western Australia. absolutly beautiful. extrememly untouched with many islands around themainland, but on the inside of the pennensula. Quite afew aboriginal communities and no dive tours available. personal or hire boats to explore the area, salt water crocs are very common and tiger sharks :Z a good knowledge of these creatures and the area will be of great advantage aswell as poisonous jelly fish very common in the wet season. apart from the bad , diving is very rewarding and an experience.

Sudan Red SeaSilky shark heaven.
Pretty reef with lots of small stuff and schools of jacks etc. However this is not the highlight of this site. This site seems to attract lots of silky sharks that come very close to divers and are very inquisitive. The night dive with the silkies is excellent.
There were also reports of regular visits to this site by 2-3 large tiger sharks.

AustraliaLatitude Rock sticks a few metres out of the water. The topography above the water is pretty well replicated underwater. Depending on the time of year (and your luck) there can be plenty of grey nurse sharks about (24 April, 2010 - there were loads of sharks about). Several dive shops depart from Forster, Nick at Forster Dive Centre is who I dive with.

Sudan Red SeaPlateau at about 25-30m with very deep drop offs to the sides. Plateau is teeming with life. Lots of corals and sponges. This site gets large schools of Barracuda, large schools of Jacks and regular sightings of grey reef sharks. If you swim to the edges of the plateau and hang in the blue you may also be rewarded with sightings of hammerheads. Then as you swim back up the plateau towards the reef you will see a shark cage at about 18m abandoned from Cousteau's time here. The reef comes up to about 5m at it's shallowest and you can see a large school of bump head parrotfish, anenomes, sweet lips etc. A truly great dive site.
