Malaysia South China SeaSugar Wreck is a cargo boat (carrying sugar) that went down ard dec 2000. It had originaly run aground butwas refloared once the cargo had beentransfered. however the damage sustained to the hull resulted in it going down once it was under tow. It lies on it's starboard side in just 18 metres of water with the port side being at abt the 6/7 metre mark.
The lenth of the wreck is 90metres and the area in which it lies flat bare sand.
Trips to the wreck are all by speedboat from the Perhentian Islands and take about 20mins on average.
The general condition is still good and it is possible to access the cargo area through the open hatch's.
Whilst it is still important to be aware of your surroundings it is an easy wreck to dive around, approx 20m away from the hull are some flat cargo crates sprouting a lot of whip coral, harp coral and some soft coral. The hatch's ALWAYS have bamboo sharks underneath,Lionfish and Scorpionfish on top, numorous Giant puffers hanging around and they are a great place to look for Nudi's.
Because the area surrounding the wreck is just sand it has formed a good artificial reef so both around the wreck (and inside the hull) there are large schools of juvenial Yellowtail Barracuda,Onespot Snapper,Schooling Mullet. Other residents include various Porcupinefish,Giant,Mappa and Yelloweyed Puffers,Batfish,Trevalies,Pickhandle Barracuda,Lionfish,Scorpionfish to name but a few.
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled on the bottom for Hermitcrabs,Octopus,Nudi's and sometype of eel that we were neverable to properly identify(bit like a snake eel).
Full penetration is possible but the internal walls are decaying quite considerably and it slts out VERY easily so good line work is a must.
The wreck it's self has no corals really but is covered in shells (except the port side) and the hull is a gd place to hunt for "different" Nudi's downside is the area you need to cover.
So if you ever go to the Perhentian Islands (northeast coast peninsular Malaysia) this is a must do dive site.

Egypt Red SeaThey say that most house reefs in Egypt are destroyed and not worth diving. I did quite a few dives at the reef and, whereas there might be a lot of destruction to the coral visible, there is still a lot to be seen there. I could have done 2-3 dives in the seagrass alone and filled a 2GB card in my camera.

Puerto Rico Caribbean SeaPlaya Crashboat is an excellent diving site. It is located on Route 107 in Aguadilla. Offering easy shore entry and exits, it is a must dive for all levels of divers. There are four piers above the water and one sunken. Originally, Navy boats docked there to be ready to rescue downed airplanes from the former Ramey Air Force Base. Max. depth around the piers is 35 feet. There is a vast amount of marine life on the piling of the piers. Often you find a lobster or two under the sunken pier. Turtles and seahorses linger around the pilings. The sandy bottom is home to gobies and queen conch.
For the technical diver, a sunken buoy sits at 120' feet of water. Local divers have marked with lines routes to points of interest such as the "tires" and the sunken buoy.
Puerto Rico Technical Diving Center offers guided shore dives to Playa Crashboat (and other local dive sites) during the day or night for a reasonable fee. Experienced divers may want to rent equipment and do a self-guided tour. PRTDC will give a complimentary briefing to its customers upon request about the conditions and route.
-DAY OR NIGHT--Good all around dive

Philippines Sulu and Sulawesi SeasWe stayed at Dive 7000, a small family-run "resort" with adequate air-conditioned rooms and good food. The diving is world-class literally right off the steps of the resort but you can go out on a banka each day to many of the other fabulous dive sites. Don't expect to see big critters here. Concentrate on the 2500 species of reef fish, the beautiful coral, multitude of nudibranches and other invertebrates. Excellent for Macro photography. I've been diving around the world for 29 years and this is the best! You will see more in one dive here than you see in an entire week somewhere else. Frog fish in every color, large and small, leaf fish, ghost pipe fish in at least 4 varieties, seahorses (one curled it's tail around my outstretched finger!), mandarin fish, flamboyant cuttlefish, dragonetes. Half the time I have to photograph something and look it up later. Many of my photos contain surprises when I see them on the computer like a small shrimp in bubble coral or a ghost pipefish in a crinoid that I hadn't noticed when I took the photo.
I'm convinced that this is the best kept dive secret there is! Spectacular night diving.
Three hours drive south of Manila. The resort can send a driver for you. Best part, besides it being very reasonably priced? They do everything for you. Come out of the water and strip off your gear and it will magically appear all dry and laid out for your dive the next morning! I like that. Actually there are two "best parts." There were NO mosquitoes at all, which is why I usually do live-aboards instead of land-based dive sites. Best time to go--the dry season March-June. Water temp is about 81-82. I was too hot in a 3.2 mil wetsuit and was much more comfortable when I dived in a skin and a very thin shortie.
After Anilau we flew to Dumaguete to dive Bahura and Apo Island from the Bahura Resort, more upscale rooms and food but they don't rinse your wetsuit for you. The diving is just a spectacular there but night diving is not allowed unless you get permission from the Mayor. We did get permission for one fabulous dive. Water temp 82-84.
Next trip will be to Tubbataha on an Explorer Boat but I'd love to stop by Bahura Resort and Dive 7000 in Anilau again if I have the time.

Pakistan Arabian SeaCherna Island
The majestic Cherna Island, a solitary rock bravely faces 50 years of target practice by the Nay this is the only place in vicinity of Karachi city where we find coral reef. Cherna Island is a popular place, for fishing, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling. But often the villager are creates problems for picnickers.
“Our valuable Marine Life”
Jan 15th Divers from “Karachi Scuba Diving Center” were diving at Bachum Reef near Cherna Island, the visibility was 40 to 60ft. normal for the month of January. The reef was full of life the color full fishes were busy swimming in and around the rocky formation. This is one of the best dive sites we have near Karachi shore, where the 40 ft drop from the top of the Plato, which is already 50 ft. deep, to the bottom reaches at a depth of 90 ft makes this dive site perfect location for a deep dive training site.
The Second dive was planned at Cherna Island north-west point, 40 ft deep dive, the visibility was excellent, and water current was pretty strong, moving westerly. Due to the strong current boat anchor could not hold properly and the boat drifted while we were gearing up we decided to make drift dive and discover new ground. We descended on anchor line and started swimming across the current towards the island. Suddenly we notice small patches of coral about 6 to 18 inches diameter and 10 t0 12 inches high approximately 20 ft. apart. And the density increases as we moved towards the island and to our surprise we landed in a good size of coral reef.
There have been small patches of reef existing earlier but this one was gorgeous. A variety of corals we found were simply astonishing, The biodiversity on the reef was remarkable; we noticed different types of Sponges, Anemones, Worms, Crustaceans, Bryozoans, Molluscs, Echinoderms, and a large selection of coral fishes we explore the new found reef for good 40 minutes the maximum time we were allowed to stay at that depth before getting into decompression problems. After surfacing we marked the reef site into our GPS and from January onwards we made 10 dives to explore the reef and documented the following marine life in the form of pictures and video clips.
Corals: - Brain Coral, Disk corals, Brown boulder corals, gorgonian, Orange Daisy coral, Tentacle coral, Flex coral and many more Varity of coral.
Fishes: - Long fin Banner fish, Blue-ring fish, Sergeant fish, Chevron Barracuda, Parrotfish, and Black spotted Puffer, Blue-spotted Fantail Stingray, Yellow Snapper, Sweet lips, Coronation Grouper, Coral Grouper, and Giant grouper, many verity of Scorpion fish, Moray eels, were documented.

Cyprus Mediterranean SeaZenobia is a Swedish roll-on-roll-off ferry fully loaded with 108 trailers and trucks, regustered to carry up to 140 passengers.
She sunk on her maiden voyage to Cyprus in 7 June 1980 off Larnaca's fishing harbor. Zenobia is now lying on her side at 42 meters.
Possition: 34,53.5 N, 33,39.1 E (1.500 meters from the shore). Most of diving in Cyprus is not very good. They have severely over-fished and there is not really any coral... BUT the Zenobia Wreck is an awesome dive and makes a trip there worth while! The wreck is so big that they usually have you dive half in the morning & half in the afternoon. Very cool.

Antigua & Barbuda Caribbean SeaAn amazing dive site close to shore just 5 minutes out from Nelsons Dockyard in English Harbour. Teaming with marine life and an abundance of lively coral, this reef is seldom visited by dive shops, except Dockyard Divers. Suitable for all levels you can dive it from 40 to 80 ft. In my opinion one of the best dive sites Antigua has to offer. A trully world class dive site.

Saudi Arabia Arabian SeaLots of wrecks of busses , cars , pick ups , and tires . Fish are small . The visibility is bad because the the water is not deep ( 22 feet max. ) . Diving in July , August and September is hard because of the very hot wearther . there is no currents at all so it is a good place for traning and bigenners . The sea bed is mud . The place is almost empty of fish far of the wrecks.

Samoa PacificThe only place in Samoa where diving in a VOLCAN CRATOR is reality! Located between the beautiful islands of Namua and Fanuatapu, this dive offers you exiting scenery, schools of reef fish, variety of Nudibranches, starfishes and an impressive wall covered with hard and soft corals. Juvenal turtles, eagle rays and white tip sharks are seen occasionally. Marvel at our ancient Christmas trees with Cleaning Shrimps surrounded by Trigger Fish, Red Snapper and other predatory reef dwellers. The wall drops to 22 meters. Go a bit deeper and you will encounter a big school of Barracudas. Definitely a must-dive in Samoa. This site is very suitable for snorkelling as well as its reef top is only a few meters deep. Visibility varies depending on weather conditions. Max depth 25 meters. A 15 minute boat ride.

United States PacificTinian's Flemming Wall near Saipan, USA offers warm azure waters and all kinds of interesting life. From flying fish which escort the dive boat on it's 45 minute trip from Saipan to herds of Sea Turtles at the top of the wall, Flemming and Tinian provide ideal dive conditions and plenty of interesting subjects for photographers. It's my favorite site in all of Asia...so far.

Canada PacificMy dive #48 and 49 Aug 6,06. I booked a guided day with Great Ocean Adventures and they did a great job of looking after me in my first dry suit dives. both were Shore entries, the one not listed above Henderson point directly off the beach and Ogden Point off a 1 km breakwater on the south side of Victoria. Water temp 11 C Air temp 22 C at both.
Henderson Point, north up the inlet, had 1 ft brightly coloured sea stars, rockfish, crabs, sole, plain fin midshipman and moon snail egg casing that was 2ft in diameter.Depth 20m 39 minutes
Ogden Point is an interesting entry and exit off the breakwater with the tide trying to rub you on or off. A quick swim through a kelp and bed and we were down drifting along the breakwater and saw a Wolf Eel, Kelp Greenling, Big (2ft) Ling Cods and Orange Cucumbers.
