Malaysia South China SeaThe dive site is a large pinnacle sea mount, the tip of which protrudes from the sea. The base of the mount is around 24 metres where you can find Nurse Sharks and Blue-Spotted Ribbontail Rays resting under coral during the day. There is a shelf at about 12 metres which is covered in anemones and soft corals. Schools of Bigeye Snapper hang around the North side with Yellowtail Barracuda patrolling nearby. The currents can be strong here, but you can usually shelter on the leeside, if it's not possible to go completely around. It is a very popular dive site and usually has 5 to 6 boats on it in the morning, so it can get a bit congested with dive groups. Late afternoon is usually best for avoiding the crowds. Sea Temp in May 29c

Malaysia South China SeaThe site consists of a collection of very large granite boulders, the top of which is about 7m, and the bottom is in 21m. Between the boulders there are swim throughs, and lots of soft corals and sea fans. A large variety of nudibranchs can be found on the corals and sponges over the rocks. Sea Temp in May 29c

Indonesia Bali SeaOur stay was at the Mimpi Resort, Tulamben.
All shore diving here from a pebble beach, sturdy footwear is required as the pebbles are large and hurt your feet. The resorts are all on the beach so no lugging of gear as porters are allways on hand.
The sand bottom is black volcanic sand, there appears veruy little life at first but when looking closer the macro life is amazing, Nudi's are everywhere. From Mimpi resort and across to the South (right hand side of bay) is the drop off, to the North (left hand side) is the Wreck of the Liberty, worth diving as there is lots of fish life there. Good for wide angle.

Puerto Rico Caribbean SeaWelcome to Rincon PR a well hidden dive secret, I think most people believe that Puerto Rico has very poor water quality, but in fact we have 60Ft plus visibility for at least 8 months out of the year. What keeps our diving a well kept secret is there is only one dive operator in our town (Tiano Divers) and they are subject to the operating around rough weather and loading a boat from a shore launch not marina, this pretty much make us a hard core divers stop, you know people who don't mind a little work to get to dive some great reefs and walls, we have two island within reach of our coast. First is Desacheo Island which sits about 12 miles west of our town and Mona Island located 42 miles offshore. Desacheo is a marine reserve as is Mona but Mona being so hard to plan a trip too is our version of heaven on earth, If your ever in PR I suggest you take dive and see for your self, you might just end up moving here as I did.

Indonesia Bali SeaThis divesite which is located a few hundered meters north of Batu Kelebit is accessed from the shore, consisting of small stones and pebbles. At a depth of around 4 meter the bottom changes into sand with here and there a small coral formation with small marine life.

Martinique Caribbean SeaIt's not often you dive a wreck that was sunk by a volcano - this one was
It's only a five minute ride from the dive center but it's very deep - 140 feet to the stern - so well preserved.
It's 400 feet long and upright. You can get inside but with limited bottom time it's not one for the faint hearted or inexperienced.

Egypt Red SeaNot good for the day, but can have some nice surprises in Nightdives.
It's a tie up point for liveaboards out of Sharm and a handy shake down dive.
Basically a huge coral bommy. I've seen shoals of barracuda, crocodile fish. Hawkfish can be found on the black coral. The usual Gorgonia, Lionfish, and a huge Napolean Wrasse in a cave having his mouth cleaned!

New Zealand PacificA beautiful arch which extends from just under the surface right down to 40 metres. Tricky to do unless the sea is calm, since a strong current through the arch makes it difficult and dangerous. Just outside the arch, there are some small caverns with lots of colourful sponges. Sea Temp 19c (Jan 2008)
