United States PacificI really enjoyed the Edmond's Underwater Park. They have put a lot of work into making it very user friendly. As long as you can find parking in the park you just put on you gear and head for the little Jetty. Remember to stay north of the Ferry Terminal. Once in the water they have laid many cables in a grid pattern. If you bought the waterproof map at the dive shop you can follow the cable (many labeled) to you location of choice. There are sucken boats, most of which are small. Cement tubes, metal frames, and everything seems to have something growing on it. I enjoyed all the white and orange anemones that protuded from the wreckage.

Go to boat ramp at Apgar Village. Enter from dock of boat ramp and swim about 100 yards to the east at 40 feet or so and you will find the Debrie field.
Or, go behind the Lake McDonald Lodge, enter from the dock and go where you will. Or, go to the Sprague Creek camp grounds do a beach entry and swim north along the shoreline about 20 yards off shore in 60 feet of water and you will swim into the underwater forrest. Tree trunks from the bottom almost to the surface.

CanadaKootenay lake had a lot of bardges hauling trains, cars equipment in the early 1900s. They were flat bardges pushed in pairs by the old paddle wheelers of that era. Ocassionaly they were lost. there is a report of three hobos( from the old days of jumping& riding trains) going down with the box cars. We have found one old shoe, and took pics, set it on top of a box car at 40'. The deepest box car sits on a steep angle from 93' back up to 46' on a ledge. Most of the box cars have thier load of coal still pouring out of them. There are 6 known box cars and 9 more left to find. There are several dive sites in this huge deep long lake including a car ferry which was in service from 1954 until 2004. It now sits at 180' to the bottom, the top is at 95'. There are boat rentals (big enough to sleep on)or services to get you out to the sites. There are also some shore dives here to be done. Low cost Motels are close by. There is a ex Navy Diver who lives n the area and hires out his boat to haul divers out. He needs some notice to plan the trip. Hit charges are good, his boat will handle 4 tech divers easily. Contact the info@albertaunderwatercouncil to find him. His first name is Blair.

Italy Mediterranean SeaA beautiful site extending from about 10 meters to 45. Lots of calcareous rocks some of which quite scenic as they stand like monolith from the bottom of the sea up to a few meters from the surface.
Lots of variety of life including small nudibranchia, colorful sponges, barracudas, large 1-meter groupers, large Dentex fish, jackfish and the whole mediterranean flair of animal life. In Spring and early Summer months lots of rock lobsters. Even a shark seen at this site. Nearby you can have close encounters with dolphins. At night you can easily encounter the beautiful Alicia Mirabilis.
